My name is Derek. I am the owner of Jay’s Brewing. I was one of Jay’s customers when he owned the shop. Jay ended up moving down to N.C and I bought the business from him and ended up bringing it back up here to VA.
The idea behind this blog is not to be to technically savvy or talk about special techniques that are unrealistic, or equipment-costing hundreds of dollars. This blog is for everyday people like you and me who enjoy this great hobby of home brewing and home winemaking because we know how great that satisfaction of creating something of our own is, and we know the feeling of pride we get being able to share our customized product to our friends and family. The approach at Jay’s Brewing is, try new things, keep an open mind, and brew with a Zen approach.
