Unfortunately I can not take credit for this one. I can tell you though it is hilarious. From looking at it with close examination I think I figured out what happened here to home-slice. I believe that the hops gunked up the bottom the air lock so no pressure could escape and then it just kept creeping up until the lid blew. Something similar happened to me but the carboy was filled with red wine and exploded in my basement.
